The gardens of High Hampton are numerous and feature beautiful flora, exotic trees, showcase shrubs, and a culinary herb garden designed by the renowned landscape architect Elesetta Gilchrest Barnes. The crown jewel is the Halsted Dahlia Gardens, first cultivated over 100 years ago by Caroline Hampton Halsted. Cut blooms for your personal enjoyment.

High Hampton is a reader’s paradise, with an abundance of perfect spots for settling in with a good book, both throughout the grounds and at the Inn itself, where the High Hampton library offers a wide assortment of books for loan, and the Cashiers Valley Book Club meets for lively discussion.

Birding is another passion easily indulged at High Hampton. Over 150 different kinds of birds have been identified on the estate.
